"Fast Food Nation" is the name of a book, was written by Eric Schlosser on 2001. In a part of the book, the author talks about kids who became targeted by market. Each child in the US watches TV for 21 hours a week and in average watches 30,000 TV commercial each year. The explosion in children to advertisement started from 1980 and the idea came from Ray Kroc and Walt Disney who said children can recognize advertisement when they are two years old. The phrase "cradle to grave" came from this idea.
A study on 1991 shows that Joe Camel ( a brand of cigarette) can be identified by six years old children. An interesting result came the following years, it indicates one third on children chose Camel over other brands when they become adult. Explosion to ad for children is the key factor, they should see the advertisement frequently on TV, internet, children's club and billboards. After that, they insist to their parents to buy the product and force them to purchase what ever they want. It is interesting to know that based on another study ( Ad traction study 2) Taco bell, Pepsi and Nike are the most popular advertisements among kids, but the most favorite TV commercial was Busweiser. These nostalgic childhood memories of a brand will lead them to purchase it for lifetime.

Pepsi Vs Coca Cola
This advertisement is made by pepsi company. It shows how people even children understand Coca Cola is not a good drink and they prefer Pepsi over Coca Cola. At the beginning you can see a child in undeveloped country goes to vending machine to buy his drink. The atmosphere of the ad shows that the boy is not from wealthy family and each coin is important for him. Even with his situation, he does not accept Coca and he uses Coca as a ladder. Another brilliant idea to show the superiority of Pepsi over Coca is the order on the vending machine, Pepsi is at higher level and Coca is below it. By the way, this commercial was banned and did not broadcast.
How Men Talk to their Wives on the Phone
Very funny advertisement. It shows how Total gas station takes care of its customers. I like the way that this advertisement transfer its message to audience. At the end, you can see every customer with a request even the odd request ( talking over the phone instead of customers) are happy and leave the gas station happy and satisfied.

Remember 25th of November
25th of November is international day for the elimination of violence against women. Three sisters (Mirabel sisters) in Dominican Republic started this movement on 1960 against dictator Rafael Trujillo. On November 25, 1981, American women's activists had remarked this day as a day for fighting violence against women. This day officially became international day from December 1999 by the UN and designed to aware people about women's rights and their problem in the society. Rape, sex harassment at workplace, and domestic violence are common forms of violence against women.
Women aid made this short and at the same time influential film to aware people about violence against women. As they mentioned at the end of the movie, two women die each week because of domestic violence. ISN'T IT TIME TO SAVE THESE WOMENS' LIFE? WHAT CAN WE DO TO SAVE THEM?

False Advertisement
http://www.businessmantra.net/false-advertising.html
Very informative article about forms of false and deceptive advertisements. Growing competition between big companies misleads them to practice deceptive advertisement. Some forms of false advertising which are used by big companies are:
1)Bait and Switch: attractive offer with higher price than the actual cost.
2)Buy one Get one free: usually the price of the first item is doubled to cover the cost of the second one.
3) Misrepresentation techniques: like showing a beauty model that reduced weight by using their product in short time.
4) Inflated price comparison: this technique is most common in the market. Retailers raise the price of the product at the beginning and then offer it with the lower price. Loyalty cards and membership cards are example of inflated price comparison.
FTC (US Federal Trade Commission) as a regulator of the market asks people to report any false advertisement to them by submitting the original copy of it.

Deceptive Commercial
CBS reports about deceptive commercials by one credit report company. The name of company is free credit report. From its name and its advertisement, consumers wrongly understand that the credit report provided by this company is free, but in fact it is not. This company charges each costumer for $14.99. Clients complain that when they say it is free, it should be free, otherwise they should inform customers. Annual credit report is another company that gives FREE credit report to people annually, but if they want more reports before one year, they should pay for it. Annual credit report in its advertisement asks people to be aware of these kinds of deceptive advertisements.
Deceptive Advertisement
www.econedlink.org/lessons/index.php?lid=663&type=student
This article is a about deceptive advertisement. Deceptive advertisement means a form of trickery involvement for selling goods and service to consumers. This tricky message can be a WEASEL WORDS which means meaningless words. Weasel words are the words that make a claim look legal to listener or readers. Deceptive advertisment under federal law has three characters:
a) Ads which give false belief
b)costumers chose different goods or service if ad was not deceptive.
c)Deceptive ad result in injury and harm for customers and other businesses.
Government and market are two main regulators for stopping deceptive advertisements. Governments establishe the laws and competitive market check other companies' ads.
One example for deceptive advertisement is medication that give this message to the customers, "our medicine helps to control the pain". Controlling does not claim to stop or cure the pain. This kinds of advertisement are considered as a deceptive which is illegal. It is not legal because it has misrepresentation and it does not disclosure all the information associated with the use of product.
