Remember 25th of November

25th of November is international day for the elimination of violence against women. Three sisters (Mirabel sisters) in Dominican Republic started this movement on 1960 against dictator Rafael Trujillo. On November 25, 1981, American women's activists had remarked this day as a day for fighting violence against women. This day officially became international day from December 1999 by the UN and designed to aware people about women's rights and their problem in the society. Rape, sex harassment at workplace, and domestic violence are common forms of violence against women.
Women aid made this short and at the same time influential film to aware people about violence against women. As they mentioned at the end of the movie, two women die each week because of domestic violence. ISN'T IT TIME TO SAVE THESE WOMENS' LIFE? WHAT CAN WE DO TO SAVE THEM?

False Advertisement

http://www.businessmantra.net/false-advertising.html

Very informative article about forms of false and deceptive advertisements. Growing competition between big companies misleads them to practice deceptive advertisement.  Some forms of false  advertising which are used by big companies are:
1)Bait and Switch: attractive offer with higher price than the actual cost.
2)Buy one Get one free: usually the price of the first item is doubled to cover the cost of the second one.
3) Misrepresentation techniques: like showing a beauty model that reduced weight by using their product in short time.
4) Inflated price comparison: this technique is most common in the market. Retailers raise the price of the product at the beginning and then offer it with the lower price. Loyalty cards and membership cards are example of inflated price comparison.
FTC (US Federal Trade Commission) as a regulator of the market asks people to report any false advertisement to them by submitting the original copy of it.

From its name and its advertisement, consumers wrongly understand that the credit report provided by this company is free, but in fact it is not. This company charges each costumer for $14.99. Clients complain that when they say it is free, it should be free, otherwise they should inform customers. Annual credit report is another company that gives FREE credit report to people annually, but if they want more reports before one year, they should pay for it. Government and market are two main regulators for stopping deceptive advertisements. Governments establishe the laws and competitive market check other companies' ads.
One example for deceptive advertisement is medication that give this message to the customers, "our medicine helps to control the pain". Controlling does not claim to stop or cure the pain. This kinds of advertisement are considered as a deceptive which is illegal. It is not legal because it has misrepresentation and it does not disclosure all the information associated with the use of product.
